For the first time Mark and I didn’t have to see all the touristic places with family and friends within a few days…
And for the first time I enjoyed the time here to the fullest. Not running from one attraction to another, just hanging out and exploring the hidden places in New York was such a nice thing to do.
Mark wanted to take some fast forward videos and so we just walked around and enjoyed ourselves while capturing NYC with our GoPro5 (Yes! We got the new GoPro from my parents!) Although it’s our 7th time in New York we still looked like two nerdy tourists with all our camera equipment – but who cares! 😉
My absolute favorite place this time was a cute little café and bakery called Maman. It’s located in SOHO (…but there are a few more located in Manhatten). Maman offers a selection of delicious baked goods, breads, coffee, fresh breakfast and a lot of lunch and brunch options. The moment I stepped into the coffee shop I fell in love with it! I LOVE how the café is decorated – a little old school and rustic, with so much love to the detail. It’s really something unique! AND the croissants are original french croissant – so delicious!
Since Mark and I were craving german food at the moment we decided to give the “Currywurst” at the Chelsea Market a try – and it was pretty good! The Chelsea Market is an enclosed urban food court, shopping mall, office building and television production facility located in the Chelsea neighborhood of the borough of Manhattan. As a food lover definitely a must-see. It’s really worth it!
We will be back on the weekend and I’m already excited – Christmas season in New York must be incredible!!
